Curtis Aviation is the home of aerobatic training and is ready to take your aerobatic flying skills to new heights. The Super Decathlon 8KCAB by American Champion Aircraft (ACA) has joined our aerobatic training fleet and we are super excited for you to experience its acrobatic-like capabilities.
What is the ACA Decathalon?
The Super Decathlon is a tandem two-seater, tailwheel, dual-control light aircraft which can be used for personal recreational flying or the ideal aircraft to master aerobatic flying. This model was built for and flown by aerobatic champion and display pilot, Greg Coontz of Birmingham Alabama, before being sold to Curtis Aviation in mid 2023.
It features:
- An impressive Lycoming AE10-360-H1B, 180HP engine
- Invertor oil and fuel systems
- Constant speed unit (CSU), and
- Is able to sustain aerobatic stresses for next level flying fun (+6/-5g)
If you enjoy flying its predecessor, the legendary Citabria (still one of our favourites to fly and train in), you’re going to be absolutely thrilled by how much further you can take your flying skills in the Super Decathlon.
What training and endorsements are done in the Super Decathlon?
